Introduction to Scientific Publishing & How to Read a Paper
(online soft-skills training, 11. & 12.3.2021)
This joint workshop dealt with two key competencies for early stage researchers:
understanding the publishing system, and digesting the scientific literature. It has provided new researchers with a solid grounding in how the scientific publishing system works, and has explored the challenges that publishing scientists face, such as authorship, peer review, and impact metrics. It has then introduced the ESRs to some essential concepts and practical tools for gathering, managing, processing, and summarising evidence in the scientific literature.
