ESR 8 @ Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain
John Michael Escobar obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia), in 2016. For his Bachelor’s thesis, he worked on the synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) over biopolymeric membranes obtained from silkworm cocoons and their eggshells.
In 2020 he obtained his Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Germany. During his Master’s thesis, he worked on the synthesis and characterisation of flexible and electrically conductive 3D networks of PEDOT:PSS using tetrapodal zinc oxide (ZnO) as sacrificial templates.
Currently, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Spain) he is working on his PhD on the pulse electrodeposition of hydroxyapatite (HA) and Ag NPs-HA and ZnO-HA composite films on Ti-based metallic surfaces, along with their characterization, in order to produce adherent, hydrophobic and antifouling coatings.
Here you can listen Michael speaking about his PhD research work in his mother tongue (Spanish).
