ESR 13 @ PX Services SA, Switzerland
Juan José Londoño received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad EAFIT, Medellin, Colombia in 2017, and a Master’s in Engineering from the same institution in 2019.
There, he was a member of the Bioengineering Research Group and worked on research topics like FE modelling of orthodontic treatments and virtual surgical planning, cranial and maxillofacial implant design.
During his Master’s studies, he interned at the Smart Biomaterials Research Laboratory from Temple University, Philadelphia (USA), where he worked on a novel piezoelectric dental composite with antibiofilm properties. Before BIOREMIA, he was working in the Institute of Mechanics and Engineering I2M of the Université de Bordeaux, France, in the development of a new dental implant concept.
Juan José joined the BIOREMIA Network in September 2020 as an Early-Stage Researcher at PX Services SA (Switzerland), and will pursue a doctoral degree in Material Science from Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria). His PhD project aims to achieve excellent bactericidal properties in precious metal-based metallic glasses for dental applications by chemical and topological modifications.
Here you can listen Juan speaking about his PhD research work in his mother tongue (Spanish).
